Mind-Body Wellness Consultation
In modern medicine, symptoms are seen as negative, and treatment consists of minimizing or muting symptoms, while ignoring their source. A symptom is your body’s way of alerting you to a problem underneath the surface, so they should never be quieted or ignored. In holistic and alternative medicine, exploring, rather than masking symptoms helps one find true healing and achieve a sense of wellness. By truly tuning in and listening to what your body is telling you, a greater awareness and understanding of how to heal it becomes possible.
Complete Picture of Health
By tuning into our body, we are better able to understand the intricate relationship between the body and the mind.
Our thoughts inform our body how to respond most efficiently to our environment with the underlying goal of sustaining the life. These thoughts tell the amygdala (the fight-or-flight response) whether it needs to signal the body to respond to a threat or not. If the body is responding to a perceived threat, then it will prepare for this by sending blood to all of the muscles throughout the body to prepare for action (increased heart rate and blood pressure), while slowing down other unimportant functions that are not related to survival at that moment, such as digestion (leading to nausea and other gut-related problems). What we don’t realize is when our fight-or-flight response is active, even when the threat is over, leading to this perpetual physiological response in the body.
The Fight-or-Flight “Switch”
When intense emotions arise and the fight-or-flight response is activated, the brain keeps this “switch” on, and doesn’t easily turn it off. This is simply the body’s way of protecting itself- becoming hyper-vigilant to other threats, but unfortunately results in physical feelings of anxiety, heaviness, fatigue, brain fog, and other common symptoms when the threat is no longer real. We have to fully process the trauma that turned on the fight-or-flight switch in order to turn it off. Until we process it, the body continues to operate in this way, and over time this can lead to pain, depression, anxiety, fatigue, and even chronic illnesses like fibromyalgia, cancer, autoimmune disorders, and many others, if left untreated. By fostering awareness of these symptoms and tracing them to their cause, the body can show us what needs to be healed and why.

In a Mind-Body Wellness Consultation, you are given a Wellness Plan that addresses each area of your life, including physical, mental, and emotional health. This can include diet changes, supplements, healing herbs, essential oils, use of the BEMER or other devices, services like Muscle Testing and Emotional Stress Release (ESR), and even a Flower Essence made specifically for you.
