Description

This tea is one that is safe for all ages and full of wonderful vitamins and minerals. A must for pregnant mothers. Red Raspberry leaf is said to help morning sickness and strengthen the womb and restore it after delivery. This tea can also help increase men’s fertility. It is also good for pre-teens and teens as it supplies vital nutrients necessary for hormones and proper growth. This formula helps children grow strong healthy bones, and ensures teenagers a healthy metabolism, less acne, less blood sugar problems, and less trouble related to hormones. Young adults prepare for child bearing years, as it is recommended that preparation begins as long as 10 years before conception. The middle-aged prevent the dread of “bad news” from the doctor about high blood pressure and cholesterol, and the elderly benefit with stronger bones and a healthy digestive system.

Alfalfa
Nutritional Facts: contains calcium, copper, folate, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, silicon, zinc, vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B5, C, D, E, and K (Vitamin K can make blood thinning medications less effective so keep that in mind). Alfalfa is a great detoxifier and known to alkalize the body, thus lowering the production of free radicals and improving the body’s ability to fight them. It also helps lower cholesterol, balance blood sugar, balance hormones, relieve menopausal symptoms, and is good for anemia, ulcers, arthritis, bones and joints, digestive system, bleeding related disorders, and the skin.

Nettle Leaf
This nutrient rich herb has absolutely no side effects when eaten or made into a tea, however, if picking nettle in the wild, do not touch it without gloves or some sort of garden tool! If touched, it can leave an itchy, nasty rash, injecting chemicals acetylcholine, histamine, serotonin, leukotrines, and formic acid into the skin. In some cases, rare life threatening allergies can occur from touching the barbs.

Nutritional Facts: contains calcium, copper, essential fatty acids, folate, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, sulfur, zinc, vitamins B1, B2. B3, B5, B6, and E1. Nettle may raise antioxidant levels, aid in helping arthritis (by reducing levels of inflammatory hormone production), help reduce the size of the prostate, is a natural treatment for hay fever because it blocks histamine production, and may lower blood pressure by stimulating the production of nitric oxide to relax the muscles of the blood vessels, helping them widen. It also has compounds that act as calcium channel blockers which relax the heart. Nettle also has compounds that mimic the effects of insulin. Nettle may also reduce bleeding, as well as protect the liver from damage by toxins, heavy metals, and inflammation. Nettle is also a natural diuretic, helping the body shed excess salt and water. Nettle supports wound and burn healing on the cellular level when used externally. It is added to hair formulas to stimulate hair follicles and regulate scalp oil build-up. Lastly, it helps with rhumatism, kidney problems, and malabsorbtion syndrome. What an amazing nutrient rich, helpful herb!

Red Raspberry Leaf
Nutritional Facts: contains Calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, silicon, zinc, vitamins B1,B2, B3, C, and E1.  Although this herb is referred to as the woman’s herb, all benefit from it! Red raspberry leaf has ellagic acids which help to neutralize carcinogens, which helps contribute to the destruction of cancer cells.  It also promotes healthy nails, bones, teeth, and skin, making it great for growing children! The roots are great for diarrhea. Red raspberry leaf also heals canker sores. Combined with peppermint, it is great for any kind of nausea. The leaf is also beneficial as a mild laxative and diuretic as well, which may help boost metabolism. One of the properties of red raspberry leaf is that it is alterative, that means it improves health over time. The longer you take it, the more you benefit from it. So for men and women, it tones muscles, gives antioxidants and nutrients, and aids in healing from sickness. Safe for all, this is a must have in every family’s pantry. Plus, your children will be stronger, and the next generation will be stronger yet, and you can begin to reverse the effects of generations of weakened DNA.

Women’s Health: For women specifically, red raspberry leaf helps reduce menstrual bleeding, relax uterine and intestinal spasms, and strengthens and tones the uterine walls. It helps protect against anemia because of its high Iron content.   As it strengthens the uterus, it will improve the labor outcome and prevent excessive bleeding after childbirth. It shortens labor and is also known to help prevent miscarriage. It should be taken 1-3 cups a day in the first and second trimester of pregnancy, and it can be taken freely in the third trimester, as it will promote productive contractions at the time of labor and delivery. The American Pregnancy Association also states that drinking the tea may reduce the need for interventions during childbirth.

Oat Straw
Avena Stativa is the scientific name of Oat Straw. Yes, this is the grass part of the Oat plant, the one we get oatmeal from. Avena means nourishing and Stativa means cultivated. This is the most ancient of all cultivated herbs.

Nutritional Facts: contains calcium, folate, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, zinc, vitamins A, Bl, B2, B3, B5. B6, and E. Oat Straw helps to lower cholesterol naturally, and contains the whole plant, not just the oats in the grocery store.Oat straw also helps lower LDL cholesterol due to the beta glucan, which reduces the formation of blood clots and keeps arteries flexible.  It is an overall tonic for the heart. It also increases vigor and stamina which helps it to act as an anti-depressant and nerve tonic. It is a great treatment for insomnia, anxiety and stress, helps combat obesity, vericose veins, and irritations to the digestive tract. Oat Straw contains b-sitosterol, which is anti-tumor. It is a herbal remedy for diabetics because it helps lower blood sugar and reduces cytokines. Oat straw stimulates cell growth, making it great for bone strength.
Caution: Even though it is gluten free, some with gluten intolerance must proceed with caution when using oat straw.

Peppermint
Peppermint is the wonderful flavor of our Nourishing tea. Yes, it has nutrients too, but the main reason we enjoy it is the flavor.

Nutritional Facts: contains calcium, choline, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, zinc, vitamins B1, B2, B3 and E.  It is good for strengthening the heart muscle, the nerves, and the entire body. It helps with overall pain and nausea, and is good for dizziness and fainting. It is aromatic, carminative (aides in dispelling gas), and rubefaceint (dilates capillaries and increases blood circulation). As a digestive aide, it aides in digestion as it increases stomach acidity. It is also a stimulant that is much better than coffee because coffee is hard on the nerves, hinders digestion, and weakens the heart muscle. Pretty much everything opposite of peppermint. Why start your morning with coffee? It is the American way, but it is a habit worth breaking.

Nourishing tea is the tea for all generations, young and old.
