Earthing also known as grounding is becoming more popular. It is Free “therapy” that is completely natural with no risk!

What is Earthing, is it the same as Grounding?
The terms Earthing and grounding are similar. Earthing is the physical aspect of grounding, so earthing does mean grounding, as it deals directly with our physical connection with the earth. But since Grounding can also be emotions or mental, it does not always mean the same as earthing. Grounding is said to clear our mind, recharge our energy, strengthen our instincts and calm our emotions. It often is used as a form of centering ourselves.

Earthing is simply placing our feet on the earth, walking barefoot, or getting connected to the earth. When we do, free electrons are transferred from the earth into our bodies; this effect is one of the most potent antioxidants. When we are not grounding, static electricity builds up in our body, and we become unbalanced.

Benefits of Earthing
One of the primary health benefits of grounding is its antioxidant effect. The earth is struck by lightning thousands of time and carries an enormous negative charge. Therefore, it is always electron-rich and serves as a powerful and abundant supply of antioxidant free radical-busting electrons. When we put our feet on the ground, we absorb large amounts of negative electrons through the soles of our feet. This is very important since free radical stress from exposure to toxins continually depletes our body of elections.

Grounding helps thin your blood by improving its zeta potential, which means it improves the energy between your red blood cells. Research has demonstrated it takes about 80 minutes for the free electrons from the earth to reach your blood stream and transform your blood. . . According to Dr. Sinatra: “This is the most incredible discovery, because if you can increase the thinning of your blood naturally by grounding, you can fight off disease. Not only heart disease and stroke, but I’m thinking cancer, Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, or any illness that requires good oxygenation to the tissues.” (NOTE: If you are taking Coumadin, it may thin your blood too much!)

Exercising barefoot outdoors is one of the most wonderful, inexpensive and powerful ways of incorporating earthing into your daily life and will also help speed up tissue repair, as well as easing muscle pain. A review of the available research, published January 2012 in the Journal of Environmental and Public Health agrees with the concept of reaping health benefits when connecting to the Earth. According to the authors: “Mounting evidence suggests that the earth’s negative potential can create a stable internal bioelectrical environment for the normal functioning of all body systems..”

Animal experiments have also shown that ungrounded rats had higher blood sugar compared to their grounded counterparts, despite being fed identical diets. If disconnecting from the earth disrupts human sugar metabolism, we may have identified yet another contributing cause for the dramatic rise of diabetes in children.

WHY There is a Problem
People used to go barefoot and get the benefit of earthing regularly. When shoes were first made, they were mostly made from papyrus, cow hide, deer hide, wood. These do conduct electricity, so people were getting grounded. It wasn’t until 1876 when rubber soles were invented. This was the beginning of the problem.

How to do Earthing
There are different ways how we can ground. Of course, the simplest way is to just go barefoot. This is fine in the summer months, but not so in the winter. Other ways of grounding are:

  • Using conductors that plug into the grounding part of a plug in. Although this is not ideal, it still can benefit.
  • Placing a pole outside in the ground and wire it into the house and connected to a earthing pad.
  • Wear shoes that conduct electricity.
  • The Earthing Company has a sheet that helps one ground during the night.
