Now that it is cold and flu season, I have seen and heard several with a cough or cold.  So it is time to stock up on Herbs that help.  Today, I want to feature our Wild Cherry Syrup.  This is a delicious effective syrup that contains herbs that have been used historically for coughs, colds, and the flu. Here are the herbs in this great syrup.

Elderberries
Elderberries have been used for hundreds of years for their health benefits.  They are high in anti-oxidants and contain compounds that inhibit the enzyme flu viruses from penetrating cell membranes and also prevent the virus from invading respiratory tract cells.

Chokecherries
Chokecherries were an important food to many Indian tribes.  They would dry them and store them for winter use.  The bark and berries of the chokecherry tree were also used to treat a number of medical ailments, including everything from anxiety to colds, diarrhea and tuberculosis.  Berries were eaten to relieve stomach pain and aid digestion as well.

Cherry Tree Bark

Historically, Cherry tree bark has been used for coughs, sore throats, bronchitis, and other respiratory problems.  It was also used for stomach problems and diarrhea, and in addition, wild cherry bark is said to alleviate pain and stimulate the digestive system.

Ginger
Ginger is a strong antioxidant that protects the liver and stomach. It is also known to fight inflammation, cleanse the colon, stimulate circulation, and reduce spasms and cramps.  Ginger also acts as an immune response enhancer, relieves gas and bloating, and promotes the production of saliva. To soothe a sore throat, just chew on the root raw.

Raw Apple Cider Vinegar

Most of us know that whenever we become sick, our body becomes more acidic.  Raw apple cider vinegar acts positively in the body to cause us to become more alkaline, thus helping our bodies balance itself when sick.

Honey

Honey has historically been used as a cough reliever.  Drinking tea or lemon water with honey is a time honored remedy for sore throats as well.

I trust this has been helpful.  Make sure to stock up on our beneficial Wild Cherry Syrup. To view this product on our website, click here.
