Slim & Trim Tea

This tea is a combination of herbs that help one lose weight, maintain good blood sugar levels, help digestion, and clean the blood. It tastes great hot or cold. Here is a list of the herbs in it and their benefits

Red Clover Blossoms

Red clover is one of history’s most popular herbs.  According to Dr. Jethro Kloss, “red clover is one of God’s greatest blessings to man. It is a wonderful blood purifier, and combined with other herbs it is a powerful remedy for cancerous growths, leprosy, and pellegra.”  It is also soothing to the nerves and is a  blood purifier.

Red clover has also been used for its antispasmodic and expectorant properties. It helps to relieve the lungs of congestion and can soothe a sore throat. It is in many remedies for whopping cough, bronchitis, asthma, and other cough-related issues.

Peppermint  is an excellent remedy for chills, colic, fevers, dizziness, gas, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dysentery, cholera, and influenza.  A general stimulant, this herb quickly diffuses itself throughout the body and brings back its warmth. It also cleanses and strengthens the entire body. A cup of strong peppermint tea can help a headache, and it will strengthen the nerves instead of weaken them like drugs.

Yerba Mate is known to stimulate the mind, ease depression, increase concentration, deliver oxygen to the heart and muscles, and help burn fat. It is high in antioxidants: about 90% more  than green tea. It can slow the signs of aging, detoxify the blood and prevent many types of cancer. Yerba mate also helps reduce stress and insomnia.  It also helps control one’s weight and aids digestion.

The antioxidants and amino acids  in yerba mate help fat and cholesterol move through the bloodstream so that they don’t accumulate on artery walls. It is also said to help prevent arteriosclerosisand prevents blood clots that may cause heart attack or stroke.

St. John’s Wort

The health benefits of St. John’s wort is impressive.  It has been used to help  treat depression, help addictions, calm the nervous system, improve mood swings, relieve anxiety, regulate hormonal activity,  protect against infections, and reduce inflammation.

Cinnamon is a favorite holiday herb used in many ways throughout the year. It is a powerful antiseptic, and has been shown to suppress completely the cause of most urinary tract infections and the fungus responsible for vaginal yeast infections. It also  contains eugenol which helps to relieve pain, and helps as a digestive aid in helping to break down fats and boosting the activity of some digestive enzymes. Some Japanese researcher report that it helps to reduce blood pressure as well.

Stevia  is a plant that is used as a sweetener.  It is around 200 times sweeter than sugar and is considered to have 0 calories.  A great alternative to sugar.
