Here are some delicious healthy holiday recipes for you to enjoy Guilt – Free!

 

Healthy Cranberry Sauce
2 apples
1 bag of cranberries
1 orange, peeled
1/2-1 C honey
Cut and core apples. Add all ingredients to blender and blend till smooth. You can serve immediately or chill overnight in refrigerator.

 

Ginger & Tumeric Hot Cider
1 cup fresh sweet apple cider
1 tsp. grated fresh ginger
1 tsp. grated fresh turmeric
1 inch strip lemon peel

Put all ingredients in small saucepan and heat over medium high heat for about 3 minutes. Cover pan and let steep for 5 minutes. Strain and serve.

 

Holiday Fudge
1/2 cup of butter or coconut butter
1 cup Carob Powder
1/2 cup Honey or rice syrup
10-20 drops peppermint oil (depends on taste)
Dash of Salt

Blend all ingredients in a bowl. Add more honey, if desired. Spread into small pan or glass container, refrigerate to harden. Cut and enjoy.
Variations: Omit the peppermint oil and add 1 tsp of vanilla and 1/2 cup of walnuts.
I often put some calcium powder in this to make it more healthy.

 

Mock Cheese Soup

4 Carrots
1 large or 2 small Potatoes
1/2 C butter
salt to taste

In pan with 4 cups of water, boil carrots and potatoes until soft. Put in blender, add butter and salt (about 1/2-1 tsp). Blend til smooth. Serve hot. “When I have served this soup, several have commented that it tastes like cheese soup. Delicious!” ~ Amy

 

Christmas Smoothie

1/2 Advocado
1/2 C almond milk
1 cup of spinach or nettle
1 frozen banana & 3 ice cubes
2-4 Tablespoons of honey
2-5 drops of peppermint oil

Put all ingredients in a blender. Make sure banana is in small pieces. Blend everything till smooth. Adjust honey and peppermint to taste.
