Uva ursi leaf is useful in diabetes, Bright’s disease, and all kidney troubles. It has been used for dysentery, piles, hemorrhoids, excessive menstruation, for the spleen, liver, pancreas, and when there are mucous discharges from the bladder with pus and blood.
Chicory root has anti-inflammatory properties. It also contains oligosaccharide-enriched inulin, which is a prebiotic, so it increases the good bacteria of the gut. It is also said to relieve constipation and protect the liver.
Paud’ Arco is a blood purifier and is antifungal, and has been used to treat ulcers, rheumatism, fungal infections, inflammatory skin conditions, dysentery, jaundice, candida, and is said to cure leukemia. It also has anti-tumor activity and is an excellent herbal source of calcium. It has also been used for the herpes virus
Ginger root has been used as a remedy for indigestion, morning sickness, diarrhea, rheumatism, lumbago, nausea, fever, and coughing. Studies have shown that ginger prevents motion sickness, thins the blood, lowers cholesterol, and prevents cancer.
Orange peel is high in vitamin C and potassium. It contains bitter compounds that are anti-inflammatory, and reduces muscle spasms, and increases the production of digestive fluids, and has been used to treat coughs, colds, flu fevers, and bronchitis.
