Nourishing Tea

This tea has been one of our favorites.  It is a mixture of herbs that are high in nutritients.  The peppermint gives it a pleasing flavor that children and adults both enjoy.   Here is a look at the herbs that are in this great tasting tea.Alfalfa leaf  has been called the “King of Plants” since it is extremely rich in vitamins and minerals. It has eight essential amino acids and the highest chlorophyll contents of any plant, and it permits rapid assimilation of plant elements. It is is a great nutritional herb for anyone, and because of its mind flavor, children won’t be adverse to it.

Red Raspberry Leaf is a great herb for pregnancy.  It is said to help morning sickness and strengthens the womb for delivery, and restores it after delivery.  It also can help increase men’s fertility, and is good for pre-teens as it supplies vital nutrients necessary for hormones and proper growth.  Red Raspberry is also good for the digestive system and helps stop diarrhea.  It is a very gentle nutrient dense herb that can be taken by most everyone.

Nettle is very nourishing, with significant amounts of vitamins C and A, calcium, silicon, potassium, chloride, iron, chlorophyll, protein, and dietary fiber. It is a good hair tonic, since it stimulates hair growth. It is a blood purifier and increases the efficiency of liver and kidney function.  Nettle is also considered a natural antihistamine, meaning that it helps allergic reactions.

Oatstraw can be used to help heal broken bones, according to Dr. John R. Christopher. Oatstraw is high in calcium, other minerals, protein and the spectrum of B vitamins. Oatstraw is also high in silica, a mineral that is largely responsible for healthy skin, hair, nails and bones.  It is a known nervine which means that it soothes and nourishes the central nervous system. It may be helpful in treating anxiety, insomnia and nervousness. The B vitamins may be one reason that oatstraw tea has such a beneficial action on stress. Peppermint  is an excellent remedy for chills, colic, fevers, dizziness, gas, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dysentery, cholera, and influenza.  A general stimulant, this herb quickly diffuses itself throughout the body and brings back its warmth. It also cleanses and strengthens the entire body. A cup of strong peppermint tea can help a headache, and it will strengthen the nerves instead of weaken them like drugs.
