Our kit contains: Burn-Aid Salve, Cure-All Salve, Liniment, Cayenne, Summer Herbal First-Aid Handbook, gauze pads, Band-Aids, Ace wrap, medical tape, cotton balls, and Q-Tips. There is room in the kit to add your own touches such as a thermometer, scissors, tweezers, or anything else to customize it to your preference.

BURN-AID SALVE:  This is second-to-none when it comes to burns. It contains comfrey and chickweed, both good for sunburns, burns from a hot campfire grate, or any kind of skin problem. It contains myrrh, which is antiseptic and healing. Olive oil, tea tree oil, bees wax and vitamin E complete this wonderful salve!

CURE-ALL SALVE:  This salve seems to live up to its name. It is easy to use and works very well on abrasions, bruises, cuts and scrapes. It is also effective for eczema and can be used on insect bites. Several of the herbs are antiseptic and will disinfect as well as heal, such as goldenseal and myrrh. Herbs like plantain draw out poisons and is a known remedy for insect bites. This product also contains self-heal, comfrey, olive oil, coconut oil, tea tree oil and vitamin E.

LINIMENT:  This liniment was developed by the pioneer herbalist, Dr. Jethro Kloss, and can be used for many ailments such as painful swellings, bruises, boils, skin eruptions of any kind, athlete’s foot, and arthritis. If you have a headache, apply the liniment to the temples, back of neck and forehead. For a toothache, apply the affected area and all around the gum and outside of jaw if necessary. Ingredients: White Oak Bark, Comfrey leaf, Myrrh gum, Goldenseal, and Cayenne in an alcohol base.

SUNBURN SPRAY:  Our Sunburn Spray can be used on both 1st- and 2nd-degree burns. It is soothing and healing. Ingredients: Comfrey, Chickweed, Witch Hazel, and essential oils of Lavender, Tea Tree and Peppermint.

CAYENNE:  Cayenne is a favorite of many herbalists, and for good reason. Cayenne is simply amazing. Here are a few properties:

 – Hemostatic (stops bleeding), both internally and externally

 – Cayenne can lower blood pressure while strengthening heart performance

 – Useful in relieving gastrointestinal problems such as stomach ache, cramping and gas

–  1 teaspoon in a cup of water (preferably hot) can stop a nosebleed.

Cayenne is definitely one of my favorites. Many herbalists carry cayenne wherever they go, and this is why:

Say that I am out on a hike with someone and they have symptoms such as these: Tightness or pain in the chest area or upper abdomen, neck or back pain, pain in the left arm/both arms (or pain radiating down left arm), pain between the shoulder blades, jaw pain, fatigue, light-headedness, anxiety, clammy skin, fullness in chest, cold sweat, or even a feeling of impending doom! These are all signs of a heart attack, so CALL 911 FIRST! Then, if possible, give the victim a cup of warm water with a teaspoon of Cayenne Tincture. If you do not have water, give 1-8 drops under the tongue. You may give more if necessary. Note: This is in an attempt to save a life until emergency help arrives. Studies have shown that the capsaicin compound in cayenne works as a powerful stimulant. When it gets into the blood system it facilitates improved blood circulation throughout the body, including the heart and brain. Note that not all cayenne has the proper amount of “heat” units. Herbs4You Cayenne Tincture has the proper potency. Dr. Christopher has stated that he never lost someone to a heart attack when giving Cayenne at the onset of symptoms. He actually used Cayenne as a preventative for himself by working up to taking 1 teaspoon, 3 times a day!

SUMMER HERBAL FIRST-AID HANDBOOK by Amy Willis: This booklet contains information you will need to apply these herbals and helpful information in emergency situations. It also gives you information for heat stroke, tick bites, vomiting, poison ivy and more!

The 4th of July may be in our rear view mirror, but there is plenty of summer left to enjoy! This is a great time to remember three examples of a well-known phrase from our Declaration of Independence. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. These have been endowed by our Creator as our unalienable Rights. God Bless America!
